Dream the impossible

Helping young people flourish

“We give a voice to young boys, girls and youths of the Delta Region in Nigeria. We nurture our children today to prepare them as future leaders for tomorrow. We promote rugby football and community sport, life skills education, organic agriculture food security and microfinance projects for women empowerment. We work in partnership with our communities, schools and universities. We motivate young people and women at grass root's level, giving them aspiration and teaching and equipping with lifestyles for social well-being. We aspire collectively to achieve excellent performance and with the help of God, dare to dream the impossible.” - Peter Ferguson

First Pillar

Inclusiveness

The GSTF embraces all faiths and non-faiths alike as brothers and sisters, but shuns fundamentalists. It is important to emphasize that we are open to believers of every religion or belief system and non-believers alike.

Second Pillar

Each Member's Solemn Pledge

To serve my club to the best of my ability, as well as my community, country and our Maker. To honour and respect and help others to make it a better world. To keep myself physically strong in body, mind and spirit always seeking to learn new things and do what is morally right.

Third Pillar

Self-sustainability

We create jobs and empower women to create profitable businesses to reduce poverty. Entrepreneurs from the grassroots start with a simple idea and are given a small loan and help to produce something which is sold for a small profit. Loans are repaid and then further loans are offered to expand the business. This process recycles until the business breaks even. Profit is then reinvested back into the business creating more jobs. This is the principle of sustainability as adopted by the GSTF microfinance business community.

Fourth Pillar

Unite Communities Through Sport

Rugby Football and Sport programmes unify and support communities and schools internationally. We believe this cause is worthy enough to bring in other corporate sponsors and investors who aspire to support and embrace our vision. The GSTF will be proud to represent Nigeria internationally and develop junior and senior tour teams to participate in tournaments for both men and women of a high-quality standard, picked from various communities across the Niger Delta State.

Growing Seed Friends Foundation held a very successful rugby tournament for schools and invited the community to our organic farm awareness day at Umomi Primary School on Saturday 17 December 2022. This was championed by Mr Emeka Ukome, Growing Seed Director of rugby. The participating schools were:

Lima Primary School, St Stephens Primary School, St Stephens Academy, Umomi Primary School, Ewulu Grammar School who were presented with medals and cups.

Thank you to our sponsors Machtech Engineering and Mr Babatunde Soyoye who kindly donated kit for the boys and girls which was well-received by the children. Thank you for other donations which we continue to receive and are most grateful for to support our expanding rugby and organic farming program.
